Safety unconditionally ranks number 1 in our values. Our attention to safety dates back to the beginning of our activity as a civil explosives manufacturer. It has been reinforced as we added further hazardous processes to our technology portfolio.

In recent years, Chemieliva has consistently performed better than theChinachemical industry’s average on both frequency and severity indexes. The frequency index measures the number of recordable injuries in proportion of the hours worked, whereas the severity index measures the severity of those injuries (days of absence and invalidity scores) in proportion of the hours worked.

In these years, we have also improved as shown by the graphics below. Yet, we are not satisfied with our performance, and we believe we are capable of much better still. For that reason, in 2008, we have initiated a new corporate-wide initiative to further reduce work-related injuries.
